Jules is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (registered with the CCPA) and holds a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology (Reg #10001345). She is an active meditation and mindfulness practitioner and has studied in monasteries across the world; including India, Thailand, Burma, and Sri Lanka.
Jules worked as a mental health and outreach worker on Vancouver's Downtown East Side for four years. The clients she worked with experienced addictions and severe mental illness. Jules worked in reproductive mental health at Royal Columbian Hospital— working with mother's with pre and postpartum anxiety and depression. She opened up Kulea Counselling in 2016 and has since been serving the Vancouver and Whistler community as a psychotherapist.
Jules uses evidence-based practices to nudger her clients in the right direction, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based interventions. Jules believes the path to a full and meaningful lives emerges when we accept where we're at, get clear with our values, and commit to mindful action. She is dedicated to help her clients thrive.
In her free time you can find Jules outdoors savoring nature with her family, and of course, chasing around her sweet little boy.
